JOHN WAYNE ADAY

John Wayne Aday, Gainesville, MO, son of Marcus and Flora (Horton) Aday, was born June 13, 1926 in Star, OK and passed away April 5, 2009 in Mountain Home, AR at the age of 82 years.

He was united in marriage to Lena Ruth Pack on July 20, 1945 in Visalia, CA and to this union two daughters were born. He was a Veteran, having proudly served his country in the Army during World War II. He was a member of the Zion Hill Missionary Baptist Church and in recent years attended the Mammoth Assembly of God Church. He worked as a welder for many years before retiring and moving to Gainesville, MO with his wife Lena, to be close to their daughter Renee. Lena preceded him in death in November of 2003. Wayne was a very friendly and caring man who was always quick with a smile. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.

He is survived by one daughter Renee of Gainesville, MO; four grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; and a host of friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife Lena; one daughter Phyllis; two brothers; and one sister.

A graveside funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM on Tuesday, April 7, 2009 in the Nogo Cemetery, Nogo, AR with Gale Wooten officiating. Visitation will be from 6 – 8 PM, Monday evening, April 6, 2009 at Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Gainesville, MO. Memorials can be made to the Ozark County Relay for Life or dropped off at the funeral home.
