John Austin "Jack" Pinckney

John Austin "Jack" Pinckney, 85 years, passed to heaven on April 3, 2009 at Cox Medical Center South, Springfield, MO.
Jack was born September 21, 1923 in Kansas City, KS to Austin and Minnie (Overstreet) Pinckney. He graduated from Ava High School and went on to trade college for two years. On April 21, 1944 Jack and Henrietta Proctor were united in marriage in Wichita, KS and to this union two daughters were born. Jack and Henrietta met while working together at Boeing during WWII. He was employed with the Civil Service and volunteered to go to Pearl Harbor after the attack. Jack was retired as a Machinist from Colt Industry.
Jack enjoyed hunting, fishing and camping. He delighted being with his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Jack was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Richard and wife, Doris Pinckney, two grandsons, Lloyd & Kevin Stewart and niece Brenda Lee Pinckney.
Jack is survived by his wife, Henrietta, two daughters & their spouses, Sharon & Edgar Paul Stewart, Linda & Paul Sears,all of Wasola, MO, seven grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
Funeral services for Jack will be Monday, April 6, 2009, at 2:00 p.m. in the Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Ava, MO with burial in the Oak Grove Cemetery, Wasola, MO. Visitation will be Sunday, April 5, 2009 from 4:00 to 5:00 p.m. in the funeral home. Officiating will be Rev. Ronnie Pinckney.
