John Douglas Fellinger, 76 years, 2 months, 3 days old, passed away April 13, 2018 at Heart of the Ozarks Healthcare with his family by his side.
Doug was born February 10, 1942 in Hollywood, CA to John Kermit and Belva (Prather) Fellinger.
Doug was a U.S. Marine Veteran. He received his B.S. Degree in Fire Technology at Tulsa. Doug was a retired District Fire Chief in Tulsa, OK. He had worked as a Fireman for over 29 years. He was of the Protestant faith. On October 21,1981 Doug and Johnnie Kay Oxford were united in marriage at Miami, OK.
Doug enjoyed fishing, NASCAR, playing pool, golf, football, and sharing stories about his life and career with his family.
He also enjoyed collecting fireman memorbilia. Doug was lovingly named, "PaPa Doug" by his grandchildren. He was a fiercely loving husband, father, and grandfather.
Doug was preceded in death by his parents.
He is survived by his wife, Johnnie of the home, five children and their spouses, Mark & Brenda Fellinger, Travis & Alicia Fellinger, Ronald Curtis Peavey, Dawne & Dan Burton and Jon & Monica Peavey, nine grandchildren, eight great grandchildren, and other relatives and many friends.
