John Dorrell Elliott, 88 years, passed away on July 3, 2010 at Palm Beach Gardens, FL.
John Dorrell was born September 30, 1921 in Ava, MO to John and Mary Jane "Molly" (Spurlock) Elliott. He graduated from Ava High School in Ava, MO.
John Dorrell was retired as an Aircraft Inspector. John Dorrell was a resident of the Seymour community and was raised in Douglas County, MO. On April 22, 1946 John Dorrell and Blanche Mallernee were united in marriage and to this union one son was born. He was a WWII Army Air Corp. Veteran and was a member of the American Legion. He loved flying, fishing, reading, writing, watching sunsets and being in the outdoors.
John Dorrell was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Blanche, one brother, Fred, six sisters, Lila, Leona, Mayme, Mildred, Lois and Fern.
John Dorrell is survived by one son & wife, John D."Chip" Elliott, Jr. and Kathryn, Palm Beach Gardens, FL, one sister, Norma Gray, Cabool, MO and other relatives and friends.
Funeral services for John Dorrell will be Saturday, July 10, 2010, at 10:00 a.m. in the Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Ava, MO with burial in the Denlow Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday, July 9, 2010 from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. in the funeral home. Officiating will be Jim Schudy. Memorials may be made to Veteran's of Foreign War (VFW).
