John Coy Porter, 50 years, passed to heaven on February 16, 2013 at Mercy Hospital, Springfield, MO.

John was born November 10, 1962 in , Hernando County, FL to Shirley Wallace. John was raised by George & Shirley (Wallace) Sparks in CA. He graduated from San Lorenzo High in San Lorenzo, CA.

John was a resident of the Springfield area moving from the Ava community where he had lived for six years. He had currently been working for a Temp Service in Springfield, MO.

John was a Christian. He was an avid Oklahoma University football fan and he loved to fish. His delight in life was his children. He had volunteered to help build the Ava Community Playground project. He also helped build and design the Frontier Girls Float for the Christmas Parade. He enjoyed helping his niece with her various scouting projects.

John was preceded in death by his daughter, Serene, his mother, Shirley Wallace Sparks and his wife, Michelene Porter.

John is survived by four children, Hillari Gray & husband, Chris, Odyssey Adams, Sebastian & Cameron Porter all of Oklahoma,one granddaughter, Joselyn, his father, George Sparks, Vanzant, MO, two sisters, Sherry Vanderstine & Don, Ava, MO, Yvonne Speer & Ed, CA, one brother, Dwight Sparks & wife, Stacy, CA and a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services for John will be Monday, Feb. 25, 2013, 11:00 a.m. at the Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Ava, MO with cremation following. Visitation will be Monday from 10:00 a.m. to service time in the funeral home. Officiating will be Pastor Ron Wallace. Memorials may be made to the family as a Love Offering.
