John E. Wilson, 86 years, passed away on December 9, 2012 at Heart of the Ozarks Healthcare, Ava, MO.
John was born April 8, 1926 in Ava, MO to Willie and Iona (Reser) Wilson.
John was a retired Machinist with Eagle Signal Co. in Rock Island, IL. John was a resident of the Ava community for several years moving from Bettendorf, IA. He was an Army Veteran and served during WWII.
On January 3, 1993 John and Pauline Barton Sellers were united in marriage at the Frye Church near Squires, MO. He was a Christian and had attended the Frye Liberty Church.
He enjoyed fishing, woodworking and loved being in the outdoors.
John was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Pauline Sellers Wilson, three brothers, Everett, Ralph and Bob Wilson and four sisters, Ethel Gott, Mertle Semones, Gladys Yancey and Avenell Walker.
John is survived by several nieces, nephews and a host of other relatives and friends. Family wants to extend a special thank you to Heart of the Ozarks Healthcare and Three Rivers Hospice for their care and love shown to our uncle.
Graveside services for John will be Tuesday, Dec. 11, 2012, 10:00 a.m. in the Ava Cemetery, Ava, MO with full military honors by Ava American Legion #112. Officiating will be Pastor Oren Alcorn.
