JOHNNIE M. STRONG
Johnnie M. Strong, 82, of Gainesville, MO died January 5, 2012 in the Baxter Regional Medical Center, Mountain Home, AR. He was born December 26, 1929 in Gainesville, MO the son of Noah and Della Vine (Howard) Strong.
On October 18, 1963 he married Betty (Walrath) Smith in the home of Ivy Holmes in Gainesville. He worked for years at Crisp's Stavemill and later years as a carpenter.
He always loved to coon hunt and raised champion Bluetick hounds. He was a member of the Caney Mountain Coon Club where he won numerous hunting trophies. He also liked to fish, hunt and garden.
He is survived by his wife Betty of the home; one stepdaughter Teresa Hunt and husband Gary of Springfield, MO; one step granddaughter Amanda Eaton of Springfield; and one step great-grandson Raven Eaton of Springfield; three brothers Chester Strong and wife Virginia of Gainesville, Lester Strong and wife Pauline of Seymour, MO and Arlie Strong and wife Pat of Batesville, AR; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers and three sisters. He will be missed by all.
A Graveside Funeral Service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, January 7, 2012 in the Mammoth Cemetery with Lowell Tregle officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the family as a Love Offering.
