Johnny Craig Evans

Ava, Missouri

Johnny Craig Evans, 68 years, 8 months, and 15 days old, passed away on  October 10, 2022 at his home with his wife by his side.

Craig was born January 23, 1954 in Springfield, Missouri to Johnnie Conness and Vivian Faye (Watterson) Evans.

Craig and Bonnie Quigley were united in marriage on July 7, 1973 at the Highway Church of the Nazarene in Ava, Missouri.

Craig worked at the Tobin Hamilton Shoe Factory for almost 22 years. He traveled to Hong Kong and Taiwan while working for the shoe factory.  He began working at Jefferson City for the Department of Corrections and later transferred to Fordland, Missouri.  He eventually retired in 2017 after 22 years.

Craig enjoyed washing his car, watching old movies, and collecting shirts from various rock bands.  He also liked the Kansas City Chiefs and collected different baseball caps.

Craig was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Rodney Evans.

Craig is survived by his wife, Bonnie; two daughters and their husbands, Christy and Randy Reichard and Sarah and Nick Wehner; four grandchildren, Evan Reichard, Ella Reichard, Grayson Wehner and Maddox Wehner; sister, Karen Ghramm; many cousins and a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services for Craig will be Friday, October 14, 2022 at 2:00 P.M. in the Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Ava, Missouri with burial to follow in the Ava Cemetery.  Visitation will be Thursday, October 13, 2022 from 6:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M..  Officiating will be Pastor Oren Alcorn and Pastor Shawn Elwood.  Memorials may be made to the City of Ava for the Pound to care and feed the animals.
