Jonathan Daniel Grissom, 69 years, 5 months, 21 days old, passed away July 8, 2026, at his home in Ava, Missouri, with family by his side.

On January 15, 1957, Jonathan was born in Ventura, California, to Sam and Rosalie (Gunkel) Grissom.

Jonathan retired as an Assistant Director of Parks and Recreation in Bakersfield, California. He worked there for 21 years. It was then he joined his family in the Ozarks.

Jonathan and Vicky Burk were united in marriage in June 7, 1980, in Bakersfield, California, and to this union a daughter, Jolena, was born.

Jonathan was a man of faith and he preached at the Church of Christ on 12th Street in Ava.

He enjoyed fly fishing, hunting, and he loved to read. He was a loving, dedicated husband, father, and grandfather.

Jonathan was preceded in death by his parents; and his sister, Verna Hill.

He is survived by his wife, Vicky; daughter, Jolena Grissom, and step children, Shawnia Bohr, Jamie Bohr, and Bob Richardson. He is also survived by adopted grandchildren who became their own children, Thomas Grissom and Anthony Grissom; grandchildren, Jimmy Dill, Dustin Davis, Richard Davis, Shawnia Dill, and Tyler Tredway; extended family and friends.

Cremation services for Jonathan are being conducted by Clinkingbeard Funeral Home in Ava, Missouri. A private family celebration will be at a later date.
