Joseph F Dolecki, of Gainesville, MO was born in Youngstown, Ohio on Dec 15, 1917 to Thomas and Josephine Dolecki. He passed away on June 6th at his home. He was 100 years and173 days old.
During WW2 he served in the army for 4 years. He was in the Pacific Theatre as a commando and later a tank corp gunner. He later received a BA from the University of Alabama, MA from George Washington University, and a PHD from New York University Economics and Foreign affairs.
He taught economics at several colleges before coming to University of Central Missouri where he taught for 28 years.
Mr. Dolecki leaves behind his wife of 69 years, Yolanda Dolecki of the home; his two sons John Dolecki, Joseph Dolecki and significant other Ruth; two granddaughters Zoe and Cassandra; and one sister Wanda Housteau.
The family hosted a celebration of his 100th birthday back in December, so no memorial service is planned at this time. Arrangements are under the care and direction of Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Gainesville, MO. The family asks for memorial contributions to be made to: Joel M.
