JOSEPH LEE GOTT

Joseph Lee "Joe" Gott was born in Gainesville, MO on August 11, 1955 to Charles Lee Gott and Helen June (Blisard). He passed from this life on January 17, 2018 at his residence at the age of 62 years, 5 months, and 6 days.

During his life, Joe travelled the world, nurtured a love a motorcycles, hot rods, the Civil War, avionics, tinkering, family, and music. Joe served in the United States Air Force until 1986. After leaving the military, he continued to serve his country as a civilian contractor servicing and fixing the fleet of airplanes our military maintains. He was known for his ability to teach, troubleshooting abilities, humor, wit, and his love for telling a good story.

Joe was married to Brenda Flatt in December of 1982 and to this union two children were born: Megan Owens of Salem, MO and Michael Gott of Lawton, OK.

Joe is survived by his mother Helen Conardy of Gainesville; his wife Brenda of the home in Salem, MO; his children Megan Owens of Salem, MO and Michael Gott of Lawton, OK; grandchildren Victoria Owens and Ian Owens of Salem; his brothers and sisters Lynette Hicks of Gainesville, Kurt Gott  of Gainesville, Karl Gott of Mansfield, Kane Gott and wife April of Mountain Home, AR, Jeri Ramsey-Hart of Creighton, MO, and Karol Gott of Arkansas; his aunts and uncles: Debbie Green and husband Dale of Jefferson City, MO and Robert Gott and wife Susan of Florida; and many nieces and nephews as well as great nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father Charles Lee Gott; brother Kyle Gott; and nephew Daniel Hicks.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, January 22, 2018 in the Clinkingbeard Funeral Home chapel, Gainesville, MO with Gale Wooten officiating. Full Military Honors will follow the service. Visitation will be Monday morning from 10 a.m. to service time. The family will honor Joe's wishes for cremation following the service. Burial will be at a later date.

Memorial contributions may be given to the American Cancer Society. Arrangements are under the care and direction of Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Gainesville, MO.
