Joshua Taylor King, 20 years, passed away May 9, 2009 in Springfield, MO. Josh was born September 20, 1988 in Mansfield, MO to Patrick and Jerri (Holbrook) King. He grew up in the Ava community and also went to school in Willard, MO.
Josh was a Carpenter. He loved riding bikes and started at the age of three with no training wheels. He rode with his grandfather, Holbrook from the country Canada all the way to old Mexico when he was only 14. He also rode the Katy Trail with his father and grandfather. He also raced in some BMX Racing Competitions. He was in the Grand Nationals in Tulsa and received Third Place Trophy. Josh enjoyed the challenge of working on cars and just about anything. He also enjoyed communicating with the deaf using sign language and loved being around animals and being with people. Josh never knew a stranger. He was a Christian and baptized in the Methodist Church.
Josh was preceded by grandparents, Earl and Jacque Holbrook, Anthony & Joanne King.
Josh is survived by his parents, Mandi & Jerry Carr , Ava, MO and Patrick Michael King, Springfield, MO, one sister, Cambria King and one brother, Michael King both of Ava, MO, two step sisters, Amy Bowman, Hurley, MO and Dawn Carr, Verona, MO, one step brother, Jerry Carr, Galena, MO, two nieces and one nephew, several aunts, uncles and other relatives and friends.
Memorial services for Josh will be Thursday, May 14, 2009, at 2:00 P.M. in the Highway Church of the Nazarene, Ava, MO. Officiating will be Rev. Mark Hatcher and Supt. Andy Adams. Memorials may be made to St Jude Childrens Research Hospital at the funeral home or at the church. Services are being conducted by Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Ava, MO.
