Joyce Ann Gidney, 67 years, passed to heaven on March 22, 2014 at her home.

Joyce was born November 9, 1946 in Los Angeles, CA to Ralph and Jean Marie Salmon.

Joyce was a resident of the Ava community for the last ten years. She worked at Ava Elementary School in the Special Education Department. On June 30, 1967 Joyce and Kenneth Gidney were united in marriage in La Habra, CA and to this union two children were born. Joyce was a Christian. She enjoyed scrapbooking, bowling, and playing board games. She was an avid and vocal supporter of the Ava Bears athletic teams.

Joyce was preceded in death by her parents, Ralph and Jean Salmon.

Joyce is survived by her husband, Kenneth Gidney, Ava, MO; one son, Steven Gidney of Colorado Springs, CO; one daughter, Nancy Beltz and her spouse Doug of Chino, CA; six grandchildren, and many friends whom she considerd family.

A Memorial service for Joyce will be Saturday, March 29, 2014, at 11:00 a.m. in the Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Ava, MO. Visitation will be Saturday from 10:30 to service time. Memorial donations may be made to the Ava Schools Backpack Program, P.O. Box 338, Ava, MO 65608.
