Joyce Sue Christensen, 77 years, 8 months, and 6 days old, passed to Heaven on January 17, 2016 at her home from a long illness with all her family by her side.
Joyce Sue was born May 11, 1938 in Evans, MO in Douglas County to Clark and Lillie (Freeman) Lambert. She graduated from Ava High School.
Joyce Sue was a resident of Mtn. Grove and Vanzant communities for many years. She had also lived in Cabool, MO for several years.
She was a retired homemaker, caregiver, hairdresser, school bus driver and also had worked at the shoe factory in Mtn. Grove.
In 1956 Joyce Sue and Eldon Kutz were united in marriage and to this union four sons were born. Later on in life and caring for Mr. Christensen, Joyce Sue and Gordon were united in marriage at Cabool, MO.
Joyce Sue was a Christian and a member of Little Zion General Baptist Church at Denlow. She enjoyed quilting, cooking, sharing with her friends through the years and most of all being with all her grand and great grandkids!
Joyce Sue was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Eldon Kutz in 1993, her husband, Gordon Christensen, four sisters, Jessie Page, Gwen Tetrick, Norma Jean Simpson and Gracie Norene, two brothers, Lowell and Emertt Lambert and one grandson, Ryan Kutz.
Joyce Sue is survived by four sons and their spouses, Keith & Jeanne Kutz, Ozark, MO, Brian & Deborah Kutz, Dawson, MO, Randy & Linda Kutz, Ava, MO, and Steve & Sherrie Kutz, Vanzant, MO, 11 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren (one on the way),
one sister, Freeda Holt, Ava, MO, two brothers, Hershell Joe Lambert, East Moline, Il, David Lambert, Highlandville, MO,
many nieces, nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services for Joyce Sue will be Thursday, January 21, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. in the Clinkingbeard Chapel, Ava, MO with burial in the Denlow Cemetery. Visitation will be Wed., Jan. 20th from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. in the funeral home. Officiating will be Pastor Bud Scherer. Memorials may be made to Denlow Cemetery, Neighbor Helping Neighbor or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
