Joyce Darlene Thomas, 81 years, 9 months, 25 days old, passed away on November 12, 2021 at Cox South Hospital, Springfield, MO with her family by her side.

Darlene was born January 16, 1940 in Ava, Missouri to Vasal and Maxine (Hale) Garrison.

Darlene was retired from working as a School Bus Driver for 24 years with the Nixa public school system. She had also served as President of the Springfield Business Women's Association for 3 years. In addition had also worked for General Electric in Springfield for several years, KTXR Radio Station and for the Healthcare Journal in Springfield under Dr. Tyndie and was also a Real Estate Agent. Darlene enjoyed working, fishing and camping and spending time with her extended family who she loved very much.

Darlene was a Christian and attended Riverdale Baptist Church in Nixa and had also attended the Immanuel Baptist Church in Springfield, MO.

She was preceded in death by her parents, an infant brother, Larry Garrison.

Darlene is survived by her sons, Rick Thomas of  Marshfield, MO, Randy Thomas of Ava, MO, and Jerry Garrison of Goodhope, MO, her grandson and wife, Brandon & Chelsea Thomas, other grandchildren, great grandchildren, Skyler & Denver Thomas, other great grandchildren, two sisters, Sherry & Larry Adams and Carol Jean Weber, nieces, nephews, cousins, extended relatives and friends.

Services for Darlene will be Tuesday, Nov. 16, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. in the Clinkingbeard Chapel, Ava, MO with burial following in the Goodhope Cemetery. A Visitation will be prior to the service at 1:00 p.m.
