Judith Barnes Davis
Judith Kay Barnes Baker Davis, 71, passed away in her home in Ava, Mo. on May 25, 2015 after a long illness.
She was born Oct. 7, 1943, to Denzil and Alieene (Hale) Barnes in Richmond Calif. She has one brother, Barry Barnes.
She was the mother of three sons, Greg, Bryan "Duff" Baker, and Brent Davis; four grandchildren, Melissa, Chad, Dezerah and Jarad.
Judith attended Faith Rock Church in Ava, Mo. Judith came from a good hard working, God fearing family.
She attended Ava High School; however she later took the general equivalence exam then continued on with college courses and became a certified bookkeeper. Judith also worked as a hospitality manager, cattle farmer, and was a long time owner/operator of Barnes Liquor. She also managed the Ozark Hotel for several years. She loved the daily business of buy/sell/trade. Plus, she was a loving caregiver to her grandmother, Hazel Barnes
She never met a stranger. Judith was a Christian, devoted mother and our moral compass. It was in her heart to always help the less fortunate, serving those in need where ever she could. Cooking was her joy and another way she found to help people.
She leaves behind many friends in Ava and the surrounding area. Judith loved her friends and she loved Ava. We are grateful we have all her friends in our life.
Memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, May 30,2015 at Clinkingbeard Funeral Home in Ava, with the Rev. Oren Alcorn officiating. In lieu of flowers the family requests memorials to be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
