Judy Mae Lakey
Ava, MO
Judy Mae Lakey, 67 years, 5 months, and 5 days old, passed to her Heavenly home from a short battle with cancer on February 13, 2015 at her home with her family by her side.
Judy was born September 8, 1947 in Springfield, MO to Roeroy (Roy) and Fern (Davis) Wood.
Judy and Elwood Lakey were united in marriage on September 2, 1966 at Ava, MO. To this union two children were born. Judy was a Christian and a member of the Seymour Church of the Nazarene.
Judy loved sewing and was an accomplished seamstress, she loved cooking and spending time and taking care of her family.
Judy was preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her husband, Elwood, of the home, son, Gary Lakey, and wife, Tammy, Ava, MO, daughter, Melinda Souder and husband, James "Goob", Seymour, MO, grandchildren; Payton and Chris Odehnal, Josh, Megan, and Jacob Lakey, Brittinie Lakey, Kymberlee, and Haylee Souder, a brother, Jerry Wood and wife Sharon, a sister, Teresa Stillings, and husband, Leroy, all of Ava, and a host of other family and friends.
Funeral services for Judy will be Monday, Feb. 16, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. in the Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Ava, MO with burial in the Ava Cemetery. Visitation will Monday from 1:00 p.m. to service time in the funeral home. Officiating will be Pastor Mark Terrill, Rev. John D. Moles and Rev. Chris Carver. Memorials may be made to the family as a Love offering.
