Julianne Salgado, daughter of Gloria (Butchke) Graves of Sullivan, WI and the late Lawrence L Graves, was born December 30, 1940 in Summit, Wisconsin, and passed away February 6, 2008 in Springfield, MO.
She got her first horse at age 12 which led to a lifelong passion for horses and animals. She was an advocate for animals and people who could not speak for themselves, she did for others without condition.
She was a 4H Club leader with several clubs in Wisconsin, and a mentor to hundreds of youngsters. She was a member of the Ava Saddle Club, the Douglas County Fox Trotter Association, and in WI; the Kettle Moraine Rough Rider Drill Team. She received a ribbon in Trail Versatility in the 2007 Fox Trotters competition. Julianne enjoyed traveling, especially with animals, was generous of time and spirit and an attentive mother.
She was preceded in death by her father. Survivors include her loving husband of 49 years, Richard F. Salgado; her mother, Gloria (Butchke) Graves of Sullivan, Wisconsin; two children, Steven Salgado of New Berlin, WI, Lori Gamroth of Dousman, WI, four siblings, Neil Graves of Squires, MO, Kathryn McHugh of Waukesha, WI, Colleen Bliffert of Dousman, WI, Bonnie Pakula of Sullivan, WI; five grandchildren, Brent, Gregory, Thomas, William, Daniel; three great-grandchildren, Gabriel, Gracie and Richard.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 4:00 P.M., Thursday, February 14 at St. Leo Catholic Church, Ava, MO. Inurnment will be in Frye Cemetery.
