June Curry

June Curry, 93 years, passed away on February 24, 2018 at Heart of the Ozarks Healthcare with her family by her side.

June was born June 18, 1924 in Madill, OK to Ezra Freeman and Lydia Ann (Pounds) Adams.

On May 10, 1941 June and Carl Curry were united in marriage in Lincoln, NE and were blessed with three children.

June was a Christian, who loved gospel music and attended church when her health permitted her. She was an avid hunter, fisherman and seamstress.

June and Carl farmed for a long time on AK highway on Dogwood Hill. After farming, they were independent truckers hauling produce. They were owner operators, and she drove the 18 wheeler with him as a team.

June was preceded in death by her parents, one sister and four brothers.

She is survived by her husband Carl of 76 years, three children and their spouses, Carol and Perry  Heckle of Liberal, KS, Carlene & Bob Jackson of Ava, MO, and Gary & Carol Curry of Longmont, CO, eight grandchildren, Van, Kelli, David, C.C., Teresa, Carl Gene, Lisa, and Steve,  numerous great grandchildren, great great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, extended relatives and friends.

Graveside services for June will be Thursday, March 1, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. in the Goodhope Cemetery, Ava. Visitation will be Thursday from 9:00 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. in the Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Ava, MO. Officiating will be Pastor Bob Huskey and Pastor Brian Graham.
