Karen Joan (Evans) Ghramm

St. Louis, Missouri

Karen Joan Ghramm, 86 years, 1 month, 26 days old, passed away on September 10, 2025, at the Benedictine Living Community, at The Shrine of Our Lady of the Snows, Belleville, IL.

Karen was born July 15, 1939 in  Ava, Missouri, to Johnnie  and  Vivian (Watterson) Evans. After graduation from High School, she moved to Springfield, Missouri, and started her career. Karen lived at the YMCA and said it was one of the happiest times of her life.

She was employed by AT&T for over 40 years as a Senior Account Clerk in St. Louis. Karen delighted in her work, and she said, "I love working." Karen was a valued employee and missed by everyone when she retired.

On May 21, 1960, Karen and Jerry Ghramm                                                                                                                                                                were united in marriage in  Miami, Oklahoma. They lived in Springfield until they moved to St. Louis to follow Karens job.

Karen enjoyed her horses and her beloved dog, "Bubbles". In later years she enjoyed listening to music and reading.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Jerry in 2013; and her brothers, Rodney Evans and Johnny Craig Evans.

Karen is survived by  her, nephew, Scott Evans; niece, Sarah Wehner; and several cousins, extended family, and friends.

Funeral services for Karen will be Monday, September 15, 2025 at 11:00 A.M. in the Clinkingbeard Funeral Home in Ava, Missouri with burial following in the Ava Cemetery. Visitation will be prior to the service at 10:00 A.M. Officiating will be Pastor Oren Alcorn.
