Karen Lynn Redfearn, 64 years, passed to heaven on March 7, 2013 with her family at her side.

Karen was born December 25, 1948 in Springfield, IL to Donald and Nellie (Donathon) Redfearn.

Karen worked as an Associate Underwriter for the Philadelphia Insurance Co.

Karen was an Earnhardt racing fan and followed NASCAR every Sunday. She was an ardent shopper for everything and everyone, and loved giving gifts to family and friends. For her 64 years here on earth, Karen always put the needs of family and friends above her own.She will leave behind many great friends and many lasting memories.

Karen was preceded by her parents and two brothers, Charles Redfearn and Don Allen Redfearn.

Karen is survived by her brother, Mike Redfearn, and wife Dawn, Ava, MO, niece Kelsey Wolken and husband Seth, Strafford, MO, nephew, Stephen Redfearn , Jr. St. Louis, MO, and lots of loving friends in Illinois and Missouri.


Memorial Service for Karen will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, March 16, 2013 at Ellinger, Kunz & Park Funeral Home, Springfield, IL. Burial at the Oak Ridge Cemetery, Springfield, IL, following the service. Officiating will be Hospice Chaplain Jeff Smith. Memorials may be made to Ava Victory Academy in care of the Karen Redfearn Memorial Scholarship Fund.

Whether or not you will be attending the service, in honor of Karen, please wear purple that day.
