IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Kathe (Butler)
Cook
June 1, 1948 – September 20, 2021
Kathe Jo (Butler) Cook, 73, of Theodosia, MO passed away September 20, 2021 at Baxter Regional Medical Center in Mtn Home, AR. She was born June 1, 1948, to Jack and Betty (Wallway) Butler in Flandreau, South Dakota.
Kathe lived most of her life in Iowa and Missouri. After graduation from Spencer High School, Kathe married Jerry Lee Cook, they were later divorced. Kathe's sons, grandchildren, and great grandchildren were so important to her. She would drive great distances to spend time with them and play games. She had pictures to show and stories to tell about all of them.
Kathe took pleasure in all the various jobs she chose to do over the years. She worked at Collins Radio in Cedar Rapids. She was a realtor, home health care aid and she worked for the extension office teaching people to plant, harvest, and can their produce. Kathe's joy in the Lord was her strength throughout the years as she faced various hardships and disappointments in life. She endured the loss of her son Tommy Lee when he was 18 years old. No matter the physical, mental, and emotion hardships that entered her life, Kathe continued to praise the Lord. She trusted that God had a plan and she needed only to hold onto his hand. Kathe was an exceptionally strong woman.
She had a rapid-fire way of speaking when she was excited. It was said that whomever Kathe was speaking to had to listen intently to be able to understand her. She enjoyed living in her little house by the babbling brook even though she had no cell phone reception. She enjoyed swimming in Bull Shoals Lake and various other places. Kathe took delight in the outdoors weather gardening, mowing, or sitting out in the sun. Kathe's contagious laugh and beautiful sprit will truly be missed by all those who knew and loved her.
Kathe is survived by her mother Betty Pool of Ankeny, IA; two sons Shane Cook of Struthers, OH and Josh Cook of Theodosia, MO; two grandchildren Preston Cook and Logan Cook; three great grandchildren Realee Nevaeh Cook, Rylee Rea Cook and Rynlee Shae Cook; three sisters Penny Hill of Des Moines, IA, Patsy Hopkins and husband Dan of Houston, TX, and Wanda Hagen and husband Tom of Earlham, IA.
She was preceded in death by her father Jack Butler; and one son Tommy Cook.
