Obituary

Kenneth Doyle Bowden, 81, of Dora, MO passed away on January 2, 2018 at his residence.   Funeral services for Mr. Bowden will be held 4:00 p.m. Monday, January 8, 2018 in the Clinkingbeard Funeral Home chapel, Gainesville, MO; Bill Harper and Clint McMullen officiating.  Burial will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, January 9, 2018  in the MissouriVeteransCemetery in Springfield, MO.

Kenneth was born February 28, 1936 in Miami,OK, son of Thomas J. and Ruth (Anthis) Bowden.  After graduating High School, he served 3 years in the army; being stationed in Germany.  Returning to the states Kenneth served 2 years in the Job Corps. He became a member of the Masonic Lodge in Florida. In 1972 Kenneth received a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology from Oklahoma State University.

Professionally, Kenneth taught school in Florida, Georgia, Oklahoma and served as a substitute teacher locally in Ozark County.  Vocationally,  he worked at many automobile dealerships across the U.S. as a master mechanic.  Kenneth was well known in the area as an excellent mechanic who would often times offer free advice.

Kenneth loved to travel with his wife Margaret.  They routinely went on adventures that lasted anywhere from a weekend to a summer.  These ventures always provided Kenneth a host of stories to tell.... and Kenneth loved to tell a story.

Family was of utmost importance to Kenneth and he visited them often.

Kenneth is survived by his loving wife Margaret, 3 daughters Kim Cabalfin and husband Cesar of Winter Park, Florida, Laura Panatera of Gainesville, Florida and Brenda Lopez and husband Tony of MacClenney, Florida; grandchildren Amanda Johansen, Melou Busby, Joe Cabalfin and Beth Panatera; brother Troy and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by two sisters, Florence and Maxine, one brother Oral and grandson Jake.
