Obituary

Kenneth Bryant, 80, Mitchell, departed from this life, Monday, October 18, 2010, at his home in Mitchell. Services will be Thursday, October 21, 2010, 10:30 AM, at the Faith Missionary Church in Mitchell, SD. Services will be Saturday, October 23, 2010, 10:30 AM, at the Mount Zion Bible School Auditorium in Ava, MO. Visitation will be one hour prior to the services. Burial will be in the Mount Zion Cemetery, in Ava, MO. Arrangements under the direction of Clinkingbeard Funeral Home.

Kenneth Doyle Bryant was born on November 11, 1929 in Arkansas City, KS to Leonard and Vernie (Williams) Bryant. He attended grade school and high school in Arkansas City, KS and went on to Bethany Nazarene College in Bethany, OK and then transferred to Kansas City College and Bible School in Kansas City, KS where he graduated with a B.A. in Ministerial Studies.

On September 5, 1958 he was united in marriage to Nancy Van Winkle in Arkansas City, KS. They pastored churches in Wyoming, Oklahoma, Colorado, Kansas, Missouri and Arizona. He also taught school in Kansas, Missouri and Arizona.

He is survived by his wife, Nancy of Mitchell; seven children: Rebecca Arnold and husband, Ron of Mitchell, Mark Bryant and wife, Annette of Delta, CO, Elizabeth Hembree and husband, Kenny of Oklahoma City, OK, Mary Klentz of Eckert, CO, Nathan Bryant and wife, Amy of Austin, CO, Sarah Oldaker and husband, Ken of Olathe, KS and Micah Bryant and wife, Marla, of Lyndon, KS; 28 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren; one sister; four nieces and a host of friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, one son, Stephen, two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
