Kenneth "Kenny" Jenkins

Kenneth Jenkins, 59 years, 6 months, 24 days old, passed away on April 5, 2018 at his home.

Kenny was born September 12, 1958 in Kansas City, MO to Verlin and JoAnn (Miller) Jenkins.

Kenny was owner and operator of Kenny's Glove and Mitt Repair in Ava. He had also worked at Rawlings Sporting Goods in Ava for many years.

Kenny was a Christian and was of the Baptist faith. He had a close relationship with the Lord! He enjoyed spending time with his family and grandkids. Kenny was an avid fisherman and hunter as well as a diehard K.C. Chiefs and St. Louis Cardinals fan! He also enjoyed coaching his children's little league teams and supporting the Ava Bears! Kenny never met a stranger and loved visiting with all his Douglas County friends.

Kenny was preceded in death by his father, Verlin Jenkins, his sister, Susie Hart, and his son-in-law, Jeremy Rains.

He is survived by his children, Amie Rains and Tyler Jenkins, both of Springfield, MO, his mother, JoAnn Jenkins, Ava, sister and husband, Pam & Larry Gerleve, and their daughter, Ashley, two grandchildren, Dylan and Macie Rains, step children, Michelle Graham, Ava and Nathan Williams, Ava, several step grandchildren, brother-in-law, Sam Hart and his children, Misty, Niki, Lance, and their spouses and children and many other relatives and friends.

Funeral services for Kenny will be Monday, April 9, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. in the Clinkingbeard Chapel, Ava, MO with burial following in the Denney Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday, April 8 ^th from 3 to 5:00 p.m. in the funeral home. Officiating will be Pastor Ron Wallace. Memorials may be made to Denney Cemetery. Services are being conducted by Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Ava, MO.
