Kent L. Stamper
Ava, MO
Kent Leon Stamper, 56 years, 10 months, and 22 days old, passed to Heaven on July 31, 2015 at Mercy Hospital, in Springfield, MO with family by his side.
Kent was born September 9, 1958 in Mansfield, MO to Troy Leon and Helen (Letsinger) Stamper. He graduated from Ava High School and attended trade school after that. He had also received his Auctioneer Certification.
Kent was the co-owner and operator of Stamper Trash Service for many years, working alongside his Mom and Dad. He and his Dad had recently sold the Trash Service to his niece, Chantelle to continue the family business.
Kent had been saved and was a Christian. Kent loved talking and visiting with everybody he met, he would stop at Casey's nearly every day to talk with the girls there. He and his friends at KKOZ enjoyed visiting on and off the radio and Kent could frequently be found supporting Ava Bears sporting events and The Ava FFA Chapter. He also thoroughly enjoyed being a member of the Ava Farm Bureau. Kent enjoyed spending time on the farm, and was a big supporter of his community, especially if it involved children.
Kent was preceded in death by his Mother, Helen, his Aunt Norma and Uncle Robert "Bobby".
Kent is survived by his father, Troy, of the home, a sister, Troyce Gerk and husband, Brian, Livingston, LA, a niece and her husband, Chantelle and Chad Emmerson, Hartville, MO, nephew, Tristian Gerk, Livingston, LA, three Uncles, Danny and Charlene Letsinger, Ava, MO, Dewey Letsinger, Springfield, MO, and Paul Stamper, East Moline, IL, and a host of other family and many friends.
Funeral services for Kent will be Monday, August 3, 2015, at 2:00 p.m. in the Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Ava, with burial in the Walnut Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday from 1:00 p.m. to service time in the funeral home. Officiating will be Pastor Chad Emmerson and Pastor Robert Roberts. Memorials may be made to Ava High School FFA Chapter.
