LANDON CLAYTON (L.C.) BARNER
A Celebration of Life for L.C. Barner, 79, of Pontiac, MO will be held at a later date. Mr. Barner passed away April 24, 2018 in Springfield, MO. He was born July 5, 1938 in Pontiac, MO the son of Harry and Wilma (Hicks) Barner.
L.C. grew up in Pontiac, MO. He graduated from the School of the Ozarks. He was a veteran of the United States Army. On October 7, 1960 he was united in marriage to Jean VanDeusen of Howards Ridge. They enjoyed 57+ years of marriage. L.C. enjoyed hunting and fishing. After living in Colorado for several years, he returned to what he called home, Pontiac, MO. He was known for his hard working ethics and generous heart. He will be missed by many family members and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father Harry Barner; his mother Willma Hicks Barner; along with sisters Almeda Barner and Iva Barner. He is survived by his wife Jean Barner of Pontiac, MO; his daughter Janice Matlock and husband Larry of Colorado; his son Jay Barner and wife Tracy of Colorado; his grandson Jason Bogard of Colorado; his two granddaughters Kristin Barner of Wyoming and Katie Barner of Colorado; his great granddaughter Shantelle Bogard of Oregon.
Arrangements are under the care and direction of Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Gainesville, MO.
