Larry V. Hampton, 67 passed to heaven on November 11, 2011 at St.John's Regional Health Center.
Larry was born September 22, 1944 in Ava, MO the son of Virgil and Ora (Johnson) Hampton, his father passed away before his birth and he was raised by his step- father Herb Huff and his mother Ora.
Larry and Jean Lirley were united in marriage in 1963 and to this union three sons were born. Larry spent most of his life in the Goodhope area except a few years living in Kansas City working for Ford Motor, they moved back around 1972 to the farm at Goodhope.
Larry enjoyed working on the farm and helping Mac with plumbing and wiring houses, he also loved visiting with neighbors and friends and greeted all with his big smile. Larry attended the Red Bank Church for several years.
Larry was preceded by his parents, stepfather and his sister Francie, also by a granddaughter, Mandy Hampton and a greatgrandson, Michael. He is survived by his three sons, David and Terinda, of Ava, Danny and Kerri of Bradleyville, and Jake of Ava, his ex wife Jean Huff, also survived by five grandchildren: Nick, Tracy, Rex, Emma, and Kate, and five great grandchildren Jasper, Drake, Blake, Konner, and Chandelyn. He is also survived by a special friend Judy Adamson of Ava.
Funeral services for Larry will be Tuesday November 15, at 2:00 P.M. in the Clinkingbeard Chapel. Visitation will be from 1:00 till 2:00 P.M. on Tuesday in the funeral home. Officiating will be Rev. Vernon Fuller and Pastor Kevin Pittman.
