LARRY ALLEN HEDDEN
Larry Allen Hedden, 65, of Gainesville, MO passed away on June 28, 2013 in Gainesville. He was born on March 26, 1948 in West Terre Haute, IN, the son of Harry Allen and Norma (Parson) Hedden.
Larry grew up in Indiana and graduated from West Vigo High School in 1966. He was a Veteran who proudly served his country in the United States Army during Vietnam. He worked for many years as a prison guard with the Federal Prison Systems, gaining the rank of Lieutenant. Larry and his family moved to Gainesville in 1989. He worked several years for True Value Hardware on the square in Gainesville and acquired many friends while there. He was a very caring person who loved his family more than anything. He also had a love of guns and enjoyed collecting them as well as knives. Larry was a Christian. He was loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
Larry was preceded in death by his mother, Norma Hedden and one daughter, Deborah Young. He is survived by his wife, Sandy Hedden and one special grandson Aaron Young both of the home in Gainesville, MO; his father Harry Hedden of Willow Springs, MO; his children Larry Hedden of Illinois, Melissa Scains and husband Jeff of Tyler, TX, Kimberly Green and husband Chad of Willow Springs, MO and Dawn Hedden of Indiana; seven grandchildren; one brother Mark Hedden of West Plains, MO and one sister Carol Roberts of Willow Springs, MO.
A Graveside Funeral service for Larry will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, July 2, 2013 in the Gainesville Cemetery. Visitation will be held Monday evening, July 1st from 5-7 p.m. in the Clinkingbeard Funeral Home chapel in Gainesville, MO.
