Obituary

Larry Dwight Sisney

August 11, 1951 – September 28, 2025

Larry Dwight Sisney, beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend to many, passed away on September 28, 2025, leaving a void that cannot be filled.

Larry was born on August 11, 1951, in Mountain Home, Arkansas, to Vernon and Bonnie Sisney. He grew up and attended school in Gainesville, Missouri, before moving to Wichita, Kansas, where he graduated.

Larry spent more than 35 years driving a truck, traveling across much of his beloved United States. He was often accompanied by his special companion, Fancy, a little Yorkie who rode with him on his journeys.

He loved hunting and fishing, and after retirement, he found joy in gardening. But above all, his greatest love was for his family, especially his grandsons and great-grandchildren.

Larry was preceded in death by his father, Vernon Sisney, his mother, Bonnie Sisney, and his sister, Tammy Robinson.

He leaves behind his loving wife, Melisa Sisney of the home; his son, Jason Sisney and wife Jill; his stepdaughter, Keyondra Gilliam, and stepson, Ivory Gilliam. He is also survived by his grandsons Evan Sisney and wife Jessie, and Sam Sisney and wife Courtney; step-grandchildren Khalilah, Tahir, Amirah, Caius, and Eliana; great-granddaughters Raylyn and Presley; and great-grandson Grayson. Larry will also be lovingly remembered by his Aunt Peggy, Uncle Paul Loftis, Aunt Francis Loftis, and his many friends, including one very special friend he called a brother, David Jump.

Larry's family asks everyone to remember all the wonderful times they shared with him.
