Laverne Hutchison
Ava, MO

Laverne Hutchison, daughter of Clarence Bishop and Daisy (King) Bishop was born on Feb. 24, 1923 in Vera Cruz, MO and passed away on Sept. 8, 2008 at Heart of the Ozarks Health Care Center, Ava, MO at the age of 85 years.

Laverne was a lifelong resident of Douglas County, MO. On Dec. 30, 1941 Laverne and Hubert Hutchison were united in marriage and to this union four children were born. She was retired from working 18 years at Rawlings Sporting Goods in Ava. She was Christian and faithfully attended the Happy Home Church. Laverne was a member of the Bryant Flint Extension Club.
She loved gardening, quilting, gospel singing, yard sales, cooking for others, volunteering at the senior citizens and most of all she loved spending time with her family.

Laverne was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, one brother, Walter Bishop and two sisters, Opal and Betty.
She is survived by four children, Carol Day & husband, Arnold, Mansfield, MO, Anne Hutchison and Wilma Pointer both of Mtn. Grove, MO and Larry Hutchison & wife, Tammy, Mansfield, MO, seven grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren and she was joyfully expecting her first great great grandchild this coming March of 09, one sister, Pauline Winkler, Independence, KS, half-sister, Patsy Hinman, Fredonia, KS and a host of other relatives and friends.

Services are Wed., Sept. 10, 2008, 10:00 A.M. at the Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Ava, MO with the Revs. J.W. O'Neal and Paul Welch officiating.
Interment will follow in the Ava Cemetery. Visitation is Tuesday from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. in the funeral home. Family requests memorials to Gideon's International.
