LAVETA INEZ STRONG

Laveta Strong, 75 of Gainesville, passed away Thursday morning, September 27, 2007 at her residence. She was born June 5, 1932 in Hardenville, Missouri to Walter and Iva (Boatright) Evans. On April 16, 1953 Laveta and Jimmy Strong were married in Kansas City, Missouri.
Laveta was a member of the Gainesville Church of Christ, where she taught Ladies Bible Class, and was also involved in many Church activities. She worked with her husband Jimmy on their farm east of Gainesville raising chickens and turkeys for many years.
She is survived by her husband Jimmy Strong of the home, children Penny James and husband Jerry of Belton, Missouri, Sandy Strong and wife Cindy of Gainesville, and Tandy Strong and wife Theresa of Gainesville; grandchildren Nathaniel James, Sherrie Walker and husband Sean, Julie Strong, Leci Strong, April Lynne and husband Matt, Justin Strong, Darin Evans and wife Teresa, and Jennifer Estes; great grandchildren Baylee Lynne, Peyton Lynne, Hannah Lynne, and Michelle Walker; brothers Sheral Evans of Mountain Home and Skid Evans and wife Vicky of Gainesville; sister Lavonne Stone of Mountain Home.
Preceded in death by her parents, 3 brothers ODean Evans, Leland Evans, and Sonny James and one grandson.
Funeral Services will be Saturday, September 29, 2007 at 10:00 AM, Gainesville Church of Christ with Halbert Smith officiating. Burial will follow at Sallee Cemetery. Visitation will Friday evening 6-8 PM at the Gainesville Church of Christ.
Pallbearers will be Joe Evans, Jamie Stone, Heath James, Kevin Crawford, Gene Strong, and Larry Strong.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Jeff Martin, Joe Strong, Jack Strong, Ben Strong, Travis Lutz, Tracey Lutz, and Darin Evans.
