LEATRICE J. SHIMKUS

Leatrice Shimkus, Gainesville, MO daughter of Forest and Evelyn (Ives) Cady, was born May 13, 1928 in Clinton, IA and passed away December 23, 2008 at Hospice of the Ozarks Hospice House in Mountain Home, AR at the age of 80 years.

On April 30, 1949 Leatrice married Walter Shimkus in Maywood, IL. To this union five children were born. She spent many years working for a fork lift trucking company as an office manager.

She is survived by her husband of 59 years Walter Shimkus of Gainesville, MO; her children Laura Rohlfs and husband Steve of Gainesville; Ruth Kelley and husband Bob of Gainesville; Jim Shimkus and wife Colleen of Las Vegas, NV; Michael Shimkus of Gainesville; Elaine Eaton and husband Scott of Gassville, AR; one sister Elaine Reiff of California; grandchildren Annette Edwards, Shauna and J.J. Spoon, Taran and Emily Eaton, Aaron and Heath Shimkus and Paul and Candice Shimkus of IL; great grandchildren Nicole, Kevin, and Michelle Jackson, Rachel and Mikaela Montes, Alyssa, Devon, and Jayden Spoon, and Leah Shimkus; and one great-great granddaughter Alexis Shaw.

She was preceded in death by her parents, one sister, and three brothers.

Funeral services will be 2:00 PM on Friday, December 26, 2008 at Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Gainesville, MO with Father Paul Wightman officiating. Interment will be in the Howard Ridge Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday from 12:30PM to service time.
