Obituary

LEE ROY CLAYTON

Lee Roy Clayton, 72, of Isabella, MO passed to heaven on February 15, 2012 at the Gainesville Healthcare Center. He was born on April 17, 1939 in Longrun, MO the youngest of twelve children born to James Matthew and Margaret Raye (Absher) Clayton.

Lee Roy was a lifelong resident of Ozark County. He worked for several years as a digger operator for Frazier Brothers Construction Company. He was a Christian and enjoyed going to church and all the fellowship. He was a very hard worker with a love for horses and the outdoors. Gardening was a priority, trying to grow a bigger tomato than his friend Leonard. His friends and family loved to listen to the many tall tales he could tell. He was loved and will be dearly missed by all who knew him.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Jim and Raye Clayton; his first wife Charlette (Lawson); sisters Elizabeth and Opal; brothers Willis, Hillis, Roland, Lonnie, Johnnie, Cecil and two infant brothers. He is survived by his wife Roberta of the home in Isabella, MO; one daughter Denise Crisp and husband Darren of Gainesville, MO; two step daughters Kathy Brown and husband Dennis of Woodward, OK and Charlene Elliott and husband William of Prince George, VA; one grandson Warren Preston Crisp; two step grandsons Neil Mazuranic and Jason English; one step granddaughter Jessica Trapp and husband Larry; one step great grandson William Preston Trapp and one step great granddaughter Lillian Mae Trapp; one brother Dolan Clayton and wife Mardy of Astoria, OR; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Saturday, February 18, 2012 in the Clinkingbeard Funeral Home Chapel, Gainesville, MO with Jimmy Kyle officiating. Visitation will be Saturday morning from 9 a.m. to service time. Burial will be at a later date in the Thornfield Cemetery.
