Lee Delbert Jones, 79 years, and 21 days old, passed away on March 10, 2015 at his home in Ava, MO with his wife by his side.
Lee was born February 20, 1936 in Calico Rock, AR to Frank and Elmeth (Boatman) Jones.
On Jan. 7,1954 Lee and Nellie Lavon Nelson were united in marriage in Ava, MO and to this union five children were born.
He was retired from working at Fasco in Ozark, MO. Before then, he worked in Kansas City, MO where he and Lavon lived for many years. Lee was a member of the of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Ava. He enjoyed bluegrass music and played many instruments, especially the fiddle and banjo.
Lee was preceded in death by his parents, five brothers, Big Lee, Lowell, Hank, William, Willie, and one
sister, Mary Myers.
Lee is survived by his wife of 61 years, Nellie Lavon Jones, Ava, MO, five children and their spouses, Mavis Harris and her fiance, Ted Tucker, Marshfield, MO, Marilyn and Tom Kingery, Mansfield, MO, Jerry Jones, Ava, MO, Kathy and Ronnie Stacy, Reeds Spring, MO and LaDonna and Doyle Belt, Ash Grove, MO, 17 grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren, one brother, Charlie Jones, Seymour, MO, many nieces, nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services for Lee will be Saturday, March 14, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. in the Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Ava, MO with burial in the Mt. Olive Cemetery (Highlonesome).Visitation will be Sat. from 1:00 p.m. to service time in the funeral home. Officiating will be Elder Randy Weidmier. Memorials may be made to the family as a Love offering.
