Lela May Johnson, 102 years, 4 months, and 17 days old, went to her Heavenly home on February 27, 2016 at Heart of the Ozarks Healthcare, Ava, MO.


Lela was born October 10, 1913 in Ozark County, MO to Elmer and Sadie (German) Wilkinson.

On July 1, 1933 Lela and Earnest Johnson were united in marriage in Douglas County, MO and to this union eight children were born. Lela was a Homemaker and Seamstress.

Lela was a Christian and a member of Spring Creek Church.
She enjoyed embroidering, crocheting, bird watching, flower gardening, her grandchildren and keeping an eye on Lennie.

Lela was preceded by her parents, her husband, Earnest in 1999, one daughter, Barbara, one son, Bennie, one grandson, Terry Brown, six siblings, Ica Turner, Hazel Jones, Amanda Trent, George Wilkinson, Katie Denney, and Claudia Jordan.


Lela is survived by six children and their spouses; Bill & Fannette Johnson, Makawao, Hawaii, Imogene "Jean" & Bob Entwistle, Ava,MO, Marcelene & Ben Casey, Ozark, MO, Gloria & Dwain Moore, Ava, MO, LaVella & Carl Streight, Ava, MO and Lennie & Ann Johnson, Squires, MO,
20 grandchildren, 34 great grandchildren, 17 great great grandchildren, one great great great grandson, many nieces, nephews and many other relatives and friends.


Funeral services for Lela will be Saturday, March 5, 2016, 10:00 a.m. in the Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Ava, MO with burial in the Mt. Tabor Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday, March 4th from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. in the funeral home. Officiating will be Rev. Dwain Moore. Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
