Lela Juanita Robertson, 96 years, passed to heaven on January 17, 2010 at Springfield, MO in the home of her daughter with her family by her side.

Lela was born September 19, 1913 in Ava, MO to William and Thena (Singleton) Hampton.

On August 29, 1931, Lela and Virgil "Grit" Robertson were united in marriage in Ava, MO and to this union three children were born.

Lela was a resident of Ava most of her life. She was a Christian and attended church when she was able. Lela enjoyed cooking and quilting.
Her joy in life was taking care of her family.

Lela was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Virgil "Grit" Robertson, one son, Bobby Joe Robertson, one great grandson, William Brooks, one brother, Vernie Hampton and one sister, Helen Ford.

Lela is survived by two daughters & their spouses, Juanita & Charles Sell, Springfield, MO and Beverly & Coy Brown, Little Rock, AR, 11 grandchildren, several great grandchildren, several great great grandchildren, many nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.


Funeral services for Lela will be Thursday, January 21, 2010, at 2:00 p.m. in the Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Ava, MO with burial in the Ava Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday, January 20, 2010 from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m. in the funeral home. Officiating will be Rev. Freeda Holt.
