Lenora "June" Ousley
Lenora June Ousley, 86 of Bettendorf, IA passed away Saturday, December 5 at Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House, Bettendorf.
Services for June will be Saturday, Dec. 12, 2015, 11:00 a.m. in the Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Ava, MO will burial following in the Blanche Cemetery with Pastor Matt Kerner officiating. Visitation will be prior to services Saturday 10:00 a.m. to service time in the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Blanche Cemetery Fund or Ava United Methodist Church.
June was born on June 1, 1929 to Edgar and Maudie Riley in Drury, Missouri. After graduation from Dora High School, she worked at the local telephone company in Mountain Grove, Missouri. On August 6, 1955 she married Terry Ousley and they moved to Davenport, IA. June then worked for Northwestern Bell and later at Von Maur. After Terry retired, they moved back to Missouri and enjoyed running the two family cattle ranches they had owned for many years, traveling, entertaining and being with family and friends. She eventually moved back to Iowa for the last few years of her life after her husband passed away to be closer to family. June was very involved in the community as a volunteer wherever she lived and was very active with Ava United Methodist Church, P.E.O., Ava Art Group, Chitter Chatter and served as secretary to the Blanche Cemetery. June will always be remembered for her hard work ethic, tremendous sense of humor, great cooking, generosity, love of the outdoors and the ability to maintain a beautiful home, lawn, garden and flowers. She was a woman of very strong faith and we find comfort in knowing she is with her maker. She was a loving wife, mother grandmother and great grandmother.
She is survived by her daughter Teresa (Davenport, IA), son Terry (Bettendorf, IA), grandson Tanner (Davenport, IA) and great grandson Jaxson (Davenport, IA), sister Martha Rogers (Springfield, MO) and brother Marvin Riley (Drury, MO). She was preceded in death by her husband Terry, her parents, and brothers Sterling, Carl, Chester and Johnny. The family would like to thank the many people that cared for their loved one - Lighthouse Homecare, Kahl Home, Genesis, Clarissa C. Cook, Dr. Steven Aguilar and Dr. Rajendran.
