Leo Eldon Brooks, 91 years, passed away on March 20, 2013 at Heart of the Ozarks Healthcare, Ava, MO with his family by his side.



Eldon was born September 3, 1921 in Girdner, MO to Walter Earnest and Deborah "Dee" (Ipock) Brooks.



Eldon was a lifelong resident of the Ava community. On May 18, 1946 Eldon and Wilma Porter were united in marriage in Mtn. Home, AR and to this union two daughters were born.

Eldon was retired from Rawlings Sporting Goods Co. in Ava, MO where he had worked for several years. He was an Army Veteran and served during WWII. He was a member of the Black Oak General Baptist Church, Ava American Legion #112 and VFW #5993.



He enjoyed listening to gospel & bluegrass music. His joy was always being with his family. Eldon was a devoted son, husband, father, grandfather & great grandfather.



Eldon was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Wilma in 2007, one brother, Verlin Brooks and one sister, Lela Burris.

Eldon is survived by two daughters, Treva Brooks and Reanee & Denny Roberts all of Ava, MO, two grandchildren, Buffy Dale, Heath & Cara Roberts, one great granddaughter, Haley Dale, all of Ava, MO, many nieces, nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services for Eldon will be Saturday, March 23, 2013, at 2:00 p.m. in the Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Ava, MO with burial in the Ava Cemetery with full military honors by Ava American Legion #112. Officiating will be Pastor Dale Roberts and Pastor Oren Alcorn. Memorials may be made to Ava American Legion #112.
