Leo Wayne Harmon the son of George Loman Harmon and Opal (Workman) Harmon was born June 30, 1927 in Garrison, Missouri and departed this life May 2, 2007 at the age of 79 years, 10 months and 2 days.
Leo was a long time resident of the Ava area. On July 10, 1945 Leo and Gloria Fletcher were united in marriage at Forsyth, Missouri. Leo and Gloria were blessed with four children.
Leo worked as a Logger and was a veteran and served his country in WWII in the U.S. Army. He was a member of the Breedon Freewill Baptist Church as well as the American Legion Post #112. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, G.W. and Loren and a daughter Janice Collins.
Leo is survived by his Wife Gloria, three children, Wayne Harmon and wife Ginger of Ava, MO, Aleita Harvey and her husband Leonard of Camden, AR, Roger Harmon and wife Melissa, Springfield, MO, son-in-law, Robert Collins, Forsyth, MO, eight grandchildren: Kenneth Harvey, Camden, AR, Christopher Harvey, Fayetteville, NC, Ryan Harvey, Camden, AR, Shane Harmon, Omaha, AR, Robert Harmon, Bradleyville, MO, Jackie Clements, Taneyville, MO, Robin Fulkerson, Kirbyville, MO & Sara Blair, Bradleyville, MO, 13 great grandchildren, one sister, Virginia Cook, Bois D Arc, MO, many other relatives, friends, beloved pastor & minister.
Services will be Sat., May 5, 2007, 10:00 a.m. in the Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Ava, MO with the Rev. Don Brynildson and Rev. Vernon Fuller officiating with interment following in the Goodhope Cemetery with military honors by American Legion #112 & VFW #5993. Visitation will be Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. in the funeral home. Family requests memorials to the Gideons.
