Leo Warren Litwiller

Leo Warren Litwiller, 91 years, 9 months, 29 days old, passed away on September 26, 2017 at Forsyth Nursing and Rehab Center in Forsyth, MO.

Leo was born November 28, 1925 in Delevan, IL to Eli and Fanny (Sutter) Litwiller.

Leo was an Air Force veteran. He was drafted his senior year of high school and became a tail gunner on a B-25 during WWII. After being discharged, Leo and Louise Dailey were married on September 8, 1945. They were blessed with four children, Peggy, Mary, Joyce and David.

On Dec. 24, 1974 Leo and Peggy Proctor Reed were united in marriage in Oklahoma.

Leo was a retired builder. He was a Christian and a member of the Union Chapel Church in Taneyville.

He enjoyed fishing, hunting, sports, playing cards and woodworking. Leo enjoyed frying and eating the fish he caught and eating pie for dessert.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a stepson, Kevin Reed, one brother, Lyle Litwiller, and three sisters, Dorine, Eileen and Velora.

Leo is survived by his wife, Peggy, four children and their spouses, Peggy & Mike Davis, Ava, MO, Mary & John Vaughan, Springfield, MO, Joyce & Leon Walton, Ozark, MO, and David & Suzette Litwiller, Ava, MO, three step-children, Shellia (Reed) Braden, Taneyville, MO, Johnnie Reed & wife, Debbie, Simpson, KS, and Kristie Glenn, Bergman, AR, six grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren, a brother, Don Litwiller & wife, Shirley and two sisters, Velma Cremeens & husband, Don and Lola Dickey & husband Bob and many other relatives and friends.

Funeral services for Leo will be 2:00 p.m. Friday, September 29, 2017 in the Clinkingbeard Chapel, Ava, MO with burial following in the Ava Cemetery with full military honors by the Troy Herd American Legion Post 112. Visitation will be Friday September 29, from 1:00 p.m. to service time in the chapel. Officiating will be Pastor Howard Kenyon. Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
