Leona Comer, the daughter of John Silvey and Frances "Taylor" Silvey was born January 5, 1919 in Webster County, MO and departed this life September 23, 2006 at the age of 87

On June 30, 1937 Leona and John Paul Comer were united in marriage in Douglas County, MO. Leona was a charter member of the Sandy General Baptist Church and was always in attendance. Leona loved spending time with her family and also enjoyed cooking, gardening, sewing, and quilting. When she had a little extra time she enjoyed driving her Ford Ranger pick-up into town.

Leona is survived by her three daughters and their husbands, Frances & Doyle Humbyrd of Ava, MO. Juanita & Harold Menzies of Clever, MO. Jeanie & Ron Cummins of Marshfield, and three sons and their wives, John & Brenda Comer of Springfield, MO. Bob and Bobbie Comer of Billings, Mo. and Bill & Barbara Comer of Ava, MO. Also survived by 13 grand children, 22 great grand & 1 great-great grand child.

Leona was preceded by her husband Paul Comer, her parents, and her 3 brothers, Leonard, Aaron, & Arnold Silvey and 3 sisters, Cleo Self, Ruby Lockhart & Betty Farris.

Services will be held 10:00 A.M. Thursday September 28, 2006 in the Clinkingbeard Funeral Home in Ava, MO with Rev. Neal Crum & Rev. Randy Dalton officiating.
The casket will be closed at the beginning of the service.
Visitation will be Wednesday evening from 6 to 7 pm at the funeral home. Burial will take place in the Ava cemetery following the service.
