Leota Susan Upton Mahan
Leota Susan Upton Mahan, daughter of the late Everett J. Upton and Stella J. Garrison Upton was born on August 12, 1919 at Gainesville, Missouri. She entered into eternal rest on January 7, 2007 at the age of 87 years, 4 months, and 25 days.
On October 1, 1938, she was married to Vearl Mahan at West Plains, Missouri.
To this union was born two children, Darlene and Darrell. Mrs. Mahan was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and homemaker. Her family was her life. She was baptized in 2004 and was of the Pentecostal faith and attended The "Y" Church.
Mrs. Mahan is survived by her husband Vearl of Gainesville, her daughter Darlene Smith and husband Ed of Gainesville; one grandson Darren Smith and wife Marty of Mountain Home, Arkansas; one granddaughter Latricia Robbins and husband Kerry of Gainesville; four great grandsons Kyler and Kaylan Robbins and Chad and Ryan Smith all of Gainesville; two step great grandchildren Dawson and Kiah of Mountain Home; one sister Glenda McCullough and husband Alva of Springfield, Missouri; and several nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents Everett and Stella Upton and son Darrell Mahan.
Mrs. Mahan will be sadly missed by her family and all who knew and loved her.
Memorial donations may be made to Lutie Cemetery. A special thanks to all the caregivers at Gainesville Health Care center for their kindness and care.
Graveside Service Tuesday, January 9, 2007 at Lutie Cemetery with Chester Strong officiating. Robert and Dorothy Grisham are singing two selections..
