Leslie Lee Van Camp Sr., 74 years, 3 months, and 12 days old, passed to his Heavenly home on October 16, 2015 at Heart of the Ozarks Healthcare, Ava, MO.

Leslie was born July 4, 1941 in Sterling, CO to Robert Lee and Lela Mae "Dolly" (Potter) Van Camp.

Leslie was a retired custodian and night watchman with Emerson Electric in Ava, MO. He had worked there for several years.
He was an Army Veteran and served during the Vietnam War from 1963 to 1965.

On August 8, 1964 Leslie and Freida Marie Roberts were united in marriage in Ava, MO and to this union three children were born.
Leslie was a Christian and attended church.

He was a hard worker and enjoyed the outdoors, farming and loved to hunt, especially with his sons and grandsons. Leslie's pass time was trying to beat his family at a good game of cards.

Leslie was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Charlene Lambert.


Leslie is survived by three children; Shawna and Jim Mills, Ava, MO, Leslie Lee Van Camp Jr., Thornfield, MO, and Larry Van Camp, Wasola, MO, three grandsons; Bradley and Brandon Mills and Austin Van Camp, a brother, Robert "Ponch" Van Camp, four sisters, Viola Beltz, Caroline Van Camp, Alda Ruark, and Hazel Drevs, many nieces, nephews and a host of other relatives and many friends.


Funeral services for Leslie will be Monday, Oct. 19th, 2015, at 2:00 p.m. in the Clinkingbeard Chapel, Ava, MO with burial in the Ava Cemetery with full military honors by Troy Herd American Legion Post 112. Visitation will be Sunday, Oct. 18th, from 5:00 to 6:30 p.m.in the funeral home. Officiating will be Pastor David Dye and Pastor Marvin Loftin.
