Lester Floyd Gillespie, 79 years, passed away on September 3, 2012 at Glenwood Healthcare, Seymour, MO with his daughter by his side.

Lester was born May 2, 1933 in Poplar Bluff, MO to Floyd and Flora (York) Gillespie.

Lester was a resident of Ava for several years.
He was a retired Farmer. On September 25, 1954 Lester and Eula Mae Bridges were united in marriage in Poplar Bluff, MO and to this union two children were born.



He was a Christian and a member of the Living Church of God.
Lester enjoyed mechanic work, gardening, being in the outdoors and treasure hunting. His joy in life was being with his wife, Eula and all his family.

Lester was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Eula on Feb. 22, 2012 and a twin brother, Louis.


Lester is survived by two children and their spouses, Linda & Terry Galimore, Tuscumbia, MO and Dennis & Ione Gillespie, Springfield, MO, four grandchildren, Becky Miller, Dustin Scott, Daniel & Jerry Gillespie, four great grandchildren, Kolby, Shatavia, Kole and Taylor, two brothers, Glen and Robert Gillespie, two sisters, Pauline Menson and Joan McKnight and other relatives and friends.


Graveside services for Lester will be Thursday, September 6, 2012, 11:00 a.m. at the Bailey Cemetery, Alton, MO. Visitation will be Wednesday from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. in the Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Ava, MO. Memorials may be made to American Cancer Society.
