Lester Otto Stierlen, 86 years, 5 months, and 4 days old, passed to heaven on June 14, 2013 at Heart of the Ozarks Healthcare Center, in Ava.
Lester was born January 10, 1927 in Paxton, NE to William and Anna (Naiman) Stierlen.
Lester and Inez Brandner were married in August 18, 1967 at Zealand, ND.
Les was an iron worker and worked construction. He also enjoyed hunting all the western states for big game, he loved fishing and panning for gold. Spending time with his family gave him great joy.
Lester was preceded by his parents, wife Inez Stierlen in 2007, six brothers and one sister.
Les is survived by daughters Judy Bastin, Ava, MO, Kathleen Potter, and husband Robert, Ava, MO, Gale Johnson, and husband Dennis, Williams, MN, Paula Welch and husband Ron, Springerville, AZ, his good friend, Skeeter Bastin, Ava, MO, two step-sons, Donnie Brandner and wife Jan, Fargo, ND and Randy Brandner and wife Cecelia, Miami, AZ, eleven grandchildren, several great-grandchildren and a host of family and friends.
Funeral services for Lester will be Tuesday, June 18, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. in the Clinkingbeard Chapel, with burial in the Girdner Cemetery . Visitation will be Tuesday, June 18, from 9:00 a.m. to service time in the funeral home. Officiating will be Pastor Donald Potter and Pastor Ronnie Pinkney. Memorials may be made to the Girdner Cemetry.
