Lillian Fay Cockrum Allen, 84, Gainesville, MO passed away on December 23, 2010 at the Hospice of the Ozarks Hospice House in Mountain Home, AR. She was born on March 16, 1926 to Roy Alvin Cockrum and Della May Pitchford Cockrum in Gainesville, MO.
Lillian was a homemaker and a member of Brushy Knob Church in Gainesville, MO, where, at times, there were five generations of her descendants in attendance.
She married Marvin Leslie Norton on March 24, 1941 in Ozark County.
She is survived by her husband Alford Allen of Gainesville, MO; her daughter Patsy Kay Whisnant and her husband Charles of Gainesville, MO, her sons Burl Royce Norton and his wife Dawn of Gainesville, MO, Richard Lynn Norton and his wife Jill of Nixa, MO, Danny Lee Norton and his wife Rebecca of Gainesville, MO; her step-children Bethye and Tim Finkle of Eugene OR, Polly and Charles Huddle of Arkansas, Lemuel and Theresa Allen of Gainesville, MO, Mickey and Gene Carter of Seymour, MO, Shonnie and Clay Pettit of Georgia, Sheila and Phi Newsome of Springfield, MO; thirteen grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, step grandchildren and step great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two sons Marvin Lavern Norton and Kenneth Dean Norton; her parents Roy and Della Cockrum; her grandson Timothy Lee Whisnant; her husband Marvin Leslie Norton; her great-granddaughters Christina Lea Whisnant and Chyanne Jade Moses; and her step-grandchildren Nicole Pendergrass and Caleb High.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, December 27, 2010 in the Clinkingbeard Funeral Home chapel, Gainesville, MO with Dean Trivitt and Marlin McGinnis officiating. Burial will be in the Patrick Cemetery. Visitation will be on Sunday afternoon from 3-5 p.m. at the funeral home.
