Lily May Merriett, 88 years, passed to heaven on March 24, 2010 at Glenwood Healthcare, Seymour, MO with her family by her side.

Lily was born March 24, 1922 in Douglas County, MO to Otto and Mary (Manning) Peak.

Lily lived most of her life in Douglas County, MO in Ava. On July 26, 1955 Lily and George Calvin Merriett were united in marriage in Ava, MO and to this union five children were born.

Lily was a member of the Freewill Baptist Church. She loved singing and going to church. One of her joys was cooking for her family. She was always faithful in telling her testimony.

Lily was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, George Calvin in 1985, four brothers, Thomas, Arvil, Jess & Ethmer Peak, two sisters, Elizabeth York Sparks and infant, Lila Fay.

Lily is survived by five children and their spouses, Hobert & Katrina Merriett, Seymour, MO, Julie & Richard Gray, Macomb, MO, Calvin & Brenda Merriett, Ava, MO, Hubert & Amanda Merriett, Ava, MO and Cavin & Lajeana Merriett, Mansfield, MO, 18 grandchildren, 27 great grandchildren, many nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.



Funeral services for Lily will be Monday, March 29, 2010, at 10:00 a.m. in the Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Ava, MO with burial in the Ava Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday, March 28, 2010 from 4:00 to 5:00 p.m. in the funeral home. Officiating will be Brother Raymond Haden.
