With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of our beloved mother and granny, Linda Carol (Fretueg) Campbell, 77, of Gainesville, MO. Her love, kindness, and unwavering devotion touched the lives of everyone who knew her. She was born January 2, 1949 in Chicago, IL to Kenneth and Gloria Fretueg.
Linda was the heart of her family—a caring mother, a proud and loving granny devoted to her children, and a loyal friend. Her home was always filled with warmth, laughter, and unconditional love. She had a caring heart and cherished the time she spent with those she loved. She found her greatest joy in spending time with her children and grandchildren, creating cherished memories that will be treasured forever. She was a dedicated employee of Baxter Lab, where she worked for 50 years.
She will be remembered for her gentle spirit, generous heart, wise advice, and the strength she showed throughout her life. Her compassion, faith, and love will continue to inspire all who were blessed to know her.
Though her family’s hearts are broken, they find comfort in knowing that her legacy lives on through the family she loved so deeply. She will be greatly missed and forever remembered with love as her family will carry her memory in their hearts always.
She is survived by one daughter, Penny Merriman; one son, Chris Campbell both of Gainesville, MO; two granddaughters, Brittany Pittman and husband Kendall, and Taylor Merriman; and one great granddaughter, Wrenleigh Pittman all of West Plains, MO; one sister, Sandra Perry and husband Robert of Texas; and one brother, Mike Fretueg of Mtn Home, AR; her nieces, Angie Brame and husband Doug; and Samantha Sumner and husband Scott; her nephews, Mike Fretueg Jr. and wife Rebecca, Jeremy Fretueg and wife Nancy, Richard Fretueg and wife Lily; and her great nephew George Fretueg; and great niece Kenzie Sumner.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Kenneth and Gloria Fretueg; her brother, Dwayne Fretueg; and her sister, Pam Pulley.
No services are planned at this time. Cremation services are under the direction of Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Gainesville, MO.
