Linda Jo Harvis

LeHigh Acres, Florida

Linda Jo Hovis, 74, of Lehigh Acres, Florida went to heaven on October 18th, 2021.

She was born August 21, 1947 in Wyandotte, Michigan to Joe and Dorothy

(Kulick) Potts.

On May 10th, 1980 Linda and Robert Hovis were united in marriage, and together they raised their new blended family.

Linda owned and operated an adult foster care home for 23 years taking care of  veterans and receiving many awards and recognition along the way.

In her second career she was a blackjack dealer where she brought lots of

excitement and conversation to the players who sat at her table.  When not

working, she had fun trying her luck on the slot machines.

Linda enjoyed being with her family, going to the beach, fishing, playing

Scrabble, interior decorating, and taking care of her many flowers and plants.

Linda was preceded in death by her parents Joseph and Dorothy and her brothers  Tommy, Donald, and Robert "Butch".

Linda is survived by her loving husband Robert and their children Kimberly,

Deborah, Rob (Donna), Richard (Terry), Jessica, and Ashley.

Her grandchildren include Brett, Tony, Joey, Jake, Nicholas, Nicole, Robbie

Joe, Dillon, Holly, Heather, Jacob, Joshua, Dakota, Magan and Jessica.

She also had many great-grandchildren.

She also leaves behind her favorite cousin Dolores Barnum.

Linda was of the Catholic faith and looked forward to going to mass,

especially the sunrise service for Easter and Christmas.

She was loved so much and will be missed by everyone, especially when we hear her favorite song, "I Hope You Dance."

Funeral services for Linda will be Saturday October 23rd, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. in the

Clinkingbeard Chapel, 407 N. Mansfield Rd Ava, MO  65608 followed by burial at Ava Cemetery. Visitation will be be prior to the service on Saturday starting at 9:00 a.m. and will last until funeral services begin. Officiating will be Deacon Joe Kurtenbach and Father Tom Dharelli.
